This Sergeant First Class (Res.), 44, from Gedera, a tank commander in the 276th Brigade’s 89th Armor Battalion, fell in combat inside the Gaza Strip. Though legally exempt from reserve service, he volunteered to enlist with the full backing of his family. He left behind a wife and six children, the youngest only a year old. His brother eulogized him, saying he had always believed with absolute courage, and that he was all strength and might—a man of action, a man of the soil.
