This Captain (Res.), 44, of Ramat Sela, was an officer in the Judea and Samaria Division headquarters. On Simchat Torah, hearing of the infiltration in the south, he did not hesitate. He grabbed his weapon and, alongside his brother and nephew, formed an independent, armed civilian rescue team. Driving straight into the inferno of a Gaza-envelope kibbutz, they operated for hours under intense fire. Moving from house to house, they successfully evacuated and saved dozens of trapped civilians, until he was struck and killed by a terrorist’s bullet. He had previously served for years as the security chief (Rabashatz) of Ramat Sela, utilizing all his tactical experience to save lives in his final heroic stand.
